The 1-2 defeat for Coach Ancelotti early this morning marks the third year that Real Madrid has been unable to beat Barcelona in pre-season friendlies.

Commenting on the match, Carlo Ancelotti said: “This was a high-intensity game with good situations. Of course, we will continue our preparation, and gradually the players will return. I hope these games will give the team more time to be ready.”

When asked about the back-to-back defeats at the start of the season, the Italian coach pointed out the areas where the team needs to focus:

“Our current goal is to give the players the necessary minutes and help the new faces return to their original condition. We are not thinking about tactical aspects or other things yet; we are simply focusing on getting the team in the best possible shape first. Tactically, the team will start training on August 7.”

“Don’t go crazy just because of two defeats. This is just pre-season, and Real is missing 8 players… The results are not very important as we are trying to get the players in the best physical condition.”

Commenting on star Vinicius Jr, Coach Ancelotti said: “Well, he is in good condition. You can see that he has been training hard during his break. Our players are returning in great shape, so there’s not much to do.”

Regarding other stars of the team like Modric, Rodrygo, Militao, Courtois, and Lunin, the 65-year-old strategist said: “Modric is playing excellently, as are the other players. Fortunately, he has returned without any issues. Modric’s physical condition allows him to play at this moment. I didn’t have to communicate much with him during the game, and he feels fine playing the full match.”

“Both Courtois and Lunin performed well. Militao has also returned and is in stable condition. As for Rodrygo, he feels a bit tired, so I think he will only play 45 minutes in the next match.”

There is certainly no reason for Real Madrid to worry after this defeat. It would be wonderful to be a successful team that wins trophies every season, but everything will be decided after June next year.
