Harry Kane faced heavy criticism from England fans for his post-match interview following the 0-0 draw against Slovenia in the third round of Group C at Euro 2024.

On June 25 (UK time), the final match of Group C Euro 2024 ended with the England team achieving a lackluster result, drawing 0-0 against Slovenia.

Under Gareth Southgate’s leadership, the team displayed an unacceptable performance characterized by hesitant play, lack of enthusiasm, cohesion, and creativity.

After the match, one of the most disappointing stars, Harry Kane, participated in an ITV Sports interview where he immediately received a barrage of criticism from fans for his comments.

“That was our goal before the tournament, to top the group and control our own destiny,” he said.

“Tonight was a tough game. I think we played more than two matches combined, with more energy and good ball possession. We just couldn’t find that final combination and final shot,” he added.

“It was a tough game, all the games will be tough from now on. We are recovering well, we are happy to be top of the group and we look forward to the next game.”

Kane also said: “It’s just a bit of final quality, final pass, finish or cross, we didn’t quite get it today. We created some chances in the first half and we could have done better in the final minutes. Overall, they defended well and made it difficult for us.”

Fans voiced their opinions on social media during the interview, with one posting: “You need to watch the entire game again, Harry, and endure what we just endured.”

Another agreed: “Did he even watch the game?”

A third person added: “Mate, the game was on TV. We all watched it.”

A fourth commented: “In football, you have to step onto the pitch and make a statement in every game. Make teams fear playing against you. Who is afraid to play us right now?”

And a fifth expressed: “Can’t stand these post-match interviews anymore. The lack of improvement in attacking ball retention is dire, while there’s no defensive work rate. Kane looks like he’s been shot to bits.”
