Luis de la Fuente Claims Neither England vs Netherlands Are Better in Euro 2024 Final, Both Are Top Opponents
In the early hours of July 9th (UK time), Spain made a remarkable comeback to defeat France 2-1 and secured the first ticket to the Euro 2024 final.
After 12 years, Spain is back in a final of a major tournament (Euro, World Cup), and coach Luis de la Fuente could not hide his joy during the post-match press conference.
De la Fuente emphasized that it does not matter whether the opponent is England or the Netherlands in the final: “It doesn’t matter who the opponent is in the final, whether it is England or the Netherlands, everyone has seen our journey from the beginning.”
“Both teams England vs Netherlands are top-level teams and we will welcome them with open arms.”
When asked whether defeating England in the final would be the best possible ending, the 63-year-old coach responded: “All we are doing is trying our best and staying strong with our ideas.”

Additionally, the Spanish national team coach provided an update on Álvaro Morata’s injury and the possibility of him playing in the Euro 2024 final.
“With Álvaro, we have to wait until tomorrow; everyone is hopeful and confident that it is nothing serious.”
“He says he feels pain, but the situation is not too serious at the moment.”
