Mason Greenwood has completed his permanent transfer from Manchester United to Marseille, as officially confirmed by Manchester United.

On July 19 (UK time), Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood finalized his transfer to French club Marseille. The deal was announced to the media and confirmed by both clubs.

According to Romano, the deal for Greenwood is valued at €26 million, with an additional €5 million in add-ons and a 50% sell-on clause for Manchester United. Marseille had been working on the deal with MU for several weeks, and De Zerbi reportedly called Mason almost daily.

Marseille has issued an official statement: “Olympique de Marseille is pleased to announce that they have secured the signing of Mason Greenwood from Manchester United. The 22-year-old forward has signed with the club after passing a successful medical examination. Proficient with both his right and left foot, this attacking player can operate in any attacking position and has scored a total of 35 goals and provided 12 assists in 129 appearances for Manchester United. Familiar with the great atmosphere of the legendary Old Trafford stadium, this English player was even called up to the national team in September 2020, at just 19 years old.”

On Instagram, Greenwood posted a photo of himself signing the contract with Marseille, accompanied by the caption: “Really excited for this new chapter. Allez l’OM!”

Manchester United also released a statement about the transfer: “Mason Greenwood has left Manchester United to join French club Olympique de Marseille on a permanent transfer. The 22-year-old English forward, who spent last season on loan at Getafe in Spain, made 129 appearances and scored 35 goals for Man United since his debut in 2019. We wish Mason all the best in his future career.”

Manchester United has also included a sell-on clause in the deal to potentially earn a significant amount from Greenwood’s future transfer.
