It’s evident that with the golden generation at hand, Gareth Southgate and his team are still consistently rated as the highest, not only by the Supercomputers but also by many top football experts and renowned coaches in the footballing world.

Recently, coach Southgate himself admitted that he might retire if he and the England national team win the Euro this summer.

When asked by reporters about the possibility of considering a new contract if they win the championship, he said: “I imagine both scenarios, that’s what we’ve always done here.”

“The fact is we’re completely focused on the upcoming tournament. I’ve been working here (pointing to the England national team building) for over 10 years and have always held ambitions to win a tournament.”

“That’s why neither I nor the team have ever contemplated declaring a direction towards winning the championship, but if we can succeed together, perhaps I’ll retire and do nothing at all.”
